Enrolling in Medicare for the First Time

Please see below the information to assist enrolling in just part A of Medicare or part A and part B of Medicare simultaneously. Senior Care Plus and Associated Insurance Professionals are not affiliated with Medicare. We help with insurance needs that fill in the gaps of the Medicare program. We assimilated this information to make the enrollment process easier.   


Preparing for your enrollment: Here is the List of what you will need!

See Below to apply online for Medicare Part A only, or Part A and B at the same time.

People who receive Social Security income payments when they turn 65 are automatically enrolled in Medicare A and B.  Those who do not receive Social Security income payments when they turn 65 are not automatically enrolled.  They will need to sign up for A and B online.  You have three options. The preferred method is to click the link below and enroll in A and B online.

1. Click here to apply for Medicare A and B when turning 65

  • Check the box saying- I understand and agree to the above statements.

  • Then Click “Next”

  • If this is your first time on Medicare’s website, click on: Start a New Application

  • If you have already set up your username and password on Medicare or Social Security, click on: Return to a saved application

  • Fill out the application and you are all done. You should have confirmation in your online portal in about 7 days and receive your Medicare card in 3 to 5 weeks!

2. Schedule a phone appointment or go in person to your nearest Social Security office - Click here to Contact your local Social Security office.

Note: If you do not enroll in Part A and Part B during your Initial Enrollment Period, you will have to wait to sign up. This may cause a gap in your coverage and you will have to pay a lifetime late enrollment penalty, and that penalty increases the longer you wait.
